A business may be at risk if the business owner loses capacity, is injured or seriously ill and does not have in place a Business Lasting Power of Attorney. Creating a BLPA allows the business owner to appoint a person or persons they trust specifically to continue the operation of the business on the owner's behalf. The attorneys are legally obligated to act in the owner's best interests.
